With over 40 years of experience in corporate
environments, I built a strong foundation in
organization, operations, and business
management. Alongside my professional
career, I nurtured an entrepreneurial streak by
running a lighting and laser show company,
blending technical skill with creativity to deliver
immersive visual experiences.
My journey into woodworking began almost by
accident—and, truth be told, I wasn’t very good
at it. I couldn’t cut a straight line to save my life,
and for a while it felt like I was fighting the craft
rather than working with it. Everything changed
the day I was offered a CNC machine, despite
not even knowing what one was. That single
moment transformed everything. Suddenly, the
ideas in my head could be shaped with
precision, consistency, and artistry. The CNC
didn’t just improve what I could produce; it
unlocked a part of me I didn’t know existed.
In a remarkable twist of fate, I later discovered
that my birth father—whom I had never
known—was a joiner, and my grandfather a
skilled wood machinist. That revelation gave
new meaning to my craft. What began as a
clumsy experiment evolved into a legacy,
connecting me to a heritage of makers and
machinists. Woodworking stopped being a
hobby and became a continuation of a story
that started long before I ever picked up a tool.
